Ingredients For a Taro Milk Tea
Making your own Taro bubble tea at home allows you to customize the flavour and sweetness to your liking.
- Taro Powder- This is a powdered form of taro, a tuber commonly used in Southeast Asia cuisine. It is made by dehydrating and grinding fresh taro roots into a fine powder. Taro powder is often used to flavor various foods and beverages, including taro-flavored smoothies, desserts, and baked goods. (They are sold on Amazon or at your Asian grocery store).
- Milk- The milk makes this drink creamy and has that beautiful light color finish. For a dairy-free, you can substitute any plant-based milk for whole milk for a vegan taro bubble tea.
- Boba Pearls- Also known as tapioca pearls, they are small chewy balls made of tapioca starch. They are most associated with bubble tea, a popular Taiwanese drink. Pearls are usually black but can also come in various colors such as white, transparent, or flavored and it’s very easy to find them on Amazon.
