The history of who invented the Sangria recipe is not precisely known, the data tells us that it was created in Spain and Portugal, countries where they have a high consumption of this delicious and refreshing cocktail!
I had the opportunity to get to know both countries and the sangria recipes in both countries are excellent!
White Sangria is a drink prepared with a base of lemonade, white wine, and fruits, however other ingredients such as club soda, some liqueurs, peaches, strawberries, apples, oranges, berries, and other components can be added to each person’s taste.
Ingredients For a White Sangria
You will love making this refreshing White Sangria recipe with the rest of the wine you did not finish.
- White Wine- Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, or Albariño are great white wines for this recipe!
- Lemonade- Fresh Lemon juice, simple syrup, and club soda it’s all we need to create a base for the cocktail.
- Club Soda- bubbles will be present in this line through this ingredient!
- Fruits- Mango, blueberries, blackberries, citrus fruit, limes, and other tropical season fruits.

How to Make a White Sangria?
You will love this White Sangria for quick and easy preparation!

1.-In a large pitcher with ice add the previously prepared lemonade, add the fruit, and stir well using a wooden spoon.
2.-Fill it with white wine, serve, and ENJOY!
Variation of a White Sangria
When preparing this cocktail, you will let your imagination fly by adding or removing ingredients that you have in your pantry, it is entertaining to prepare!

Red Wine– Try this distillate, the smoky flavor goes very well with watermelon!
Bubbles- add fizz to it using champagne, cava, or prosecco instead of white wine!
Herbs- add aromatic herbs such as fresh mint, basil, or rosemary to give it more freshness and a fresh aroma!
Basil- Do the same as with rosemary, you will love its flavor with just a fresh basil leaf.
Brandy- In Spain it is common for sangria to add a touch of this distillate giving it a kick of alcohol.
Orange Liqueur- Add a touch of Cointreau or Grand Marnier to enhance the citrus flavor!
Spices- Add some cinnamon, and star anise to give a spice taste!
What is the Best White Wine for White Sangria?
There are many variations of white grapes that you can use for this recipe, and it doesn’t necessarily have to be an expensive wine, but don’t use a very cheap one either as the quality of your cocktail will change and you can even use Spanish white wine or grapes like Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Albariño, a Chenin Blanc or Chenin Colombard, choose depending on your taste!

- 1 (750 ml) bottle of white wine, chilled
- 2 oz Fresh Lemon juice
- 2 cups of club soda, or ginger ale
- 2/3 cup white sugar
- 1 orange, cut into wedges.
- 1 apple cut into wedges.
- 2 tablespoons of blueberries
- 2 tablespoons of fresh cranberries optional
- 3 cups of ice
Instructions
- In a large pitcher with ice add the previously prepared lemonade, add the fruit, and stir well with a wooden spoon.
